The Windsor & Maidenhead Executive Job Club was formed in September 2007 to help out-of-work executives, managers and professionals in the area to get back into work. The group meets in venues in Windsor & Maidenhead on alternative Thursday mornings. A similar model is used by Careers Springboard in Gerrards Cross, Aylesbury, Bracknell and Newbury. Access to these sites are provided on the Links page and may be better suited to your location. To date these groups have helped over 1000 members back into the work force. In September 2007 the Windsor & Maidenhead Executive Job Club was relaunched to be managed by a Volunteer led organisation.
We are now a regsistered charity, registration number: 1136202
Each group organises their own weekly meetings with their own format and timing. In Windsor & Maidenhead each meeting provides members with support in four distinct ways:
1. Meetings are focused on a specific aspect of job searching or preparation, including application letter and CV writing, telephone techniques, networking, use of the internet, interview techniques and personal presentation. These give the members opportunity to share experience and to develop and practice their skills.
2. Interactive format and group discussions provide opportunities to share information and learn from each other’s experiences.
3. Members review their own progress and discuss their own challenges, to set up further private meetings with a Volunteer or another member as necessary. For example, possible revisions to CV’s might be discussed so as to make it a more effective selling document customised for a specific job application.
4. Opportunity is given for members to network.
Many Volunteers have been involved with redundancy or job loss so you will meet people who understand your feelings and needs.
If you wish to join us please download the application form.
New members and volunteers from the area are always welcome.
